Just received this e-mail from Keith Ireland, the guy who operates the car park in Coventry that was giving the 50p discount via the Trust website (generating over 70 pre-pay bookings for him and seeing the car park closed to POTD parkers before 2pm):

"Thanks for your efforts in making this a successful day for all. We had free drinks all night in the pub from the exhausted staff.

The pub said you were one of the friendliest and well behaved supporters they had served.

With support like that at away games you deserve to go up.

I will watch your efforts throughout the season."

Nice to feel appreciated isn't it!

I used the car park and thought it was first class. Will definately use it again when we next play them.

Fantastic set-up, both with pub & car-park, shame we don't have similar set up at the gate.
The land-lady in the pub did say when Preston arrived a week earlier they brought a total of 4 fans to the "away" pub????
We must of had 200+

I bought three rounds at once because of it - and if others were doing the same, that would have contributed to it I suppose.

If you queued from the other side of the pub it would have been much quicker. Unfortunately I joined the big queue thinking it was the only one and discovered the secind smaller queue when I was 3 away from the bar!

Must say that the car park staff were still there after the game. They may well have gone to the game and come back afterwards but most car parking areas at away games bugger off as soon as the game has started and are nowhere to be seen after. They even said thanks and have a safe journey as we left the car park.

That was part of the problem though!

Should have just set up a bottle bar up in the garden, easy money.

Yes, must sat C/P and pub excellent, the barmaids were top notch as well, (I mean they were lightening quick). I don't usually use the "main" pubs, but atmos was very good (no oikish behaviour) and a good garden to have a fag in...queue angry reactionary responces!

Anyone use the burger van in the pub car park?

Excellant value for clogging up yer arteries - £5 for a double mushroom burger and full English. Lovely when washed down with a couple of pints of cider.
